These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Kai (the "Service"). By creating an account, joining the waitlist, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

Plain-English summary: Use Kai responsibly. It's not medical advice. Don't break the law with it. We can change the Service. If we disagree, most disputes go to arbitration. Cancel anytime.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old (18 in some jurisdictions) to use Kai. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement.

Kai provides general nutrition and fitness information for healthy adults. It is not medical, dietetic, psychological, or other professional advice. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional before making changes to your diet, exercise, or supplement regimen — especially if you are pregnant, nursing, have a medical condition, or have a history of disordered eating. 5. AI-generated content

Kai uses large language models. Outputs are probabilistic — they can be incomplete, inaccurate, or out of date. You are responsible for evaluating the suitability of any AI-generated information before acting on it.

The Service, brand, code, and content (except your data) are owned by us and protected by intellectual property law. You retain ownership of the content you submit to Kai (meals, weights, conversations). You grant us a limited license to process this content to deliver the Service.

8. Termination

You can stop using the Service at any time and delete your account from inside the app. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, abuse the AI, or pose security or legal risk.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT INFORMATION PROVIDED IS ACCURATE OR COMPLETE.

10. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, KAI AND ITS OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR HEALTH OUTCOMES, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) US $50.

11. Dispute resolution

Most disputes can be resolved by emailing legal@kaifit.app. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, you agree to resolve it through binding arbitration on an individual basis, except where prohibited by applicable law. Class actions are waived to the extent permitted by law.

12. Changes

We may update these Terms over time. Material changes will be communicated in-app or by email. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles, unless local consumer protection laws require otherwise.
