We're in private beta and aiming for public launch in the next few months. Waitlist members get access first.
Both. Kai is built on React Native and will ship to the App Store and Google Play simultaneously. iPad is supported too.
MyFitnessPal is a database with forms; Cal AI is a calorie scanner. Kai is a coach. It remembers your preferences and life context, adapts your targets when your trend diverges from your goal, suggests progressions for your lifts, and answers questions in plain English — all in one chat window, not a dozen tabs.
No. Just say what you ate — "chicken bowl from Chipotle," "two eggs on toast," "12oz cold brew." Kai parses it, looks up macros, and logs it. On Pro, snap a photo and skip typing entirely.
Yes. Free is free forever — no trial, no countdown. The only limit is 30 messages per day with Kai (most users use 5–10). Voice and photo are Pro-only because they cost us per use.
Voice input, photo meal logging, and a higher daily message cap (500 vs 30). Everything else — memory, targets, workouts, trends — is in the free tier.
Yes. Cancel from your app store account and you keep Pro until the end of the billing period. No surprise charges.
Join the waitlist before we open the doors. The first 100 signups get 6 months of Pro automatically — no card required.
No. Kai gives general nutrition and fitness information for healthy adults. It is not a replacement for advice from a doctor, registered dietitian, or licensed trainer. See our disclaimer.
Your profile (goal, weight, preferences), your meal & workout logs, and your conversations with Kai. We use this to power the coaching — nothing else. We don't sell data, don't show ads, and don't share with third parties beyond the model providers we use to run Kai. See the privacy policy.
Kai is not designed for clinical eating-disorder treatment. If you have a history of disordered eating, please consult a qualified professional before using any calorie-tracking app, including Kai.
Yes. You can delete your account and all associated data from inside the app, or by emailing privacy@kaifit.app.
Kai runs on OpenAI's GPT-4o family hosted in Azure AI Foundry, plus Whisper for voice transcription. Routine messages use GPT-4o-mini for speed and cost; vision and complex reasoning use the full GPT-4o.
Estimates. Kai uses the USDA food database where it can and the LLM's nutrition knowledge where it can't. Real-world variance (cooking method, portion misjudgment, hidden ingredients) means treat any single meal as ±15%. Over weeks, the average is what matters and Kai adjusts to your real trend.
You can view your previous conversations and totals offline. New logging and coaching requires an internet connection because it talks to the AI.
